1st Grade Picasso Portraits

This project is a great introduction to Picasso, and is also a stress free way for young students to draw faces.  They really enjoyed using color and shape in an abstract way!  After analyzing a Picasso portrait, and focusing on the shapes of facial features, students drew and colored in the eyes, nose and mouth on their chosen geometric shapes.  Oil pastels were used to add color, and then students arranged and glued their shapes in classic Picasso fashion.  Students then went to town with details!
