All hail 1st grade royalty!

1st graders created these detailed castles by focusing on combining geometric shapes.  They were also required to mix the secondary colors from the primaries.  Materials: black oil pastel and liquid watercolors-I just recently discovered liquid watercolors, and find them very effective in painting large areas!

This is a tried and true color wheel project, but is quite challenging for 3rd graders.  Subject: aliens!   Each week one brave student has been taking the "color wheel challenge" by arranging paper squares in the correct order on the board.
What an incredible double neck guitar design! I am so proud of this 4th grader!
4th graders recently finished a challenging project on value.  They were required to create a value scale in the neck of a guitar, and then develop a design for the guitar body, adding 3 additional values.
There is a lot of intricate cutting involved in this collage.  Composition is key!.

Can you tell where I am?  Hint: it's my favorite city, and you will see the Eiffel Tower if you visit!
Welcome to my new blog!
