5th Grade Drawing With Light
This project required a lot of planning, collaboration, and cooperation on the part of students. They worked in groups of 2 or 3 to develop an idea for a contour drawing, and then spent a great deal of time practicing. A time lapse photograph was taken in the dark as students drew in the air with cellophane covered flashlights, and other glowing objects. The process was difficult, because students couldn't see what they were drawing; the flashlights had to point in the direction of the camera. They did a wonderful job, and the results are unique, and striking!
