As part of a larger unit on value, students choose a color, plus white, to create various tints in acrylic paint. Paper and markers were used to create a silhouette; the creativity and imagination reflected in these paintings is outstanding!

3rd Grade Weavings
Weaving can be a long, frustrating process for kids, but using a paper plate, and weaving on a round loom, made the process a bit quicker, and a lot of fun! Feathers, braids and beads were added to add details and interest.
2nd Grade Squeegee Prints
This unique printing process begins with a marker design on paper,
using light, bright colors. Next, a notched squeegee is used as a drawing
tool to scrape away ink and create a line design from a metal tray.
The drawing is then placed on the ink, and the two designs are combined.
The results are striking, and the kids really loved the process!

1st Grade Sponge Painted Snowmen
First graders used sponges to create the soft, snowy texture of these snowmen. Oil pastels were used to create details; I love the personalities that students created to bring these paintings to life!
