Massive Mosaics

 One of the biggest mosaics in the world is at Camana Bay, Grand Cayman Island.  The mosaic is 4 stories high and depicts an ocean scene, from the surface, to deep water, with every coral reef creature you can imagine.  It was an impressive sight,and must have been a massive undertaking!

The Blue Iguanas of Summer

  One of the highlights of my summer was taking a wonderful trip to Grand Cayman Island at the end of June.  We visited a botanical park while we were there, and got to see 3 blue iguanas up close and personal.  They are an endangered species, and sadly there are only 1000 left.  They roamed free throughout the park, and allowed us to get quite close to take photos!  This is truly an amazing creature, with it's color, patterns, and textures.

Inspiration for a tropical Monet painting!

We discovered a concrete sculpture park in an artist's front yard.  Cool!
